Each Lift ONLY once a week???

After reading John Christy, and then reading Stuart McRobert, and then Bob Whelan has got me so confused with the exercise programming thing.

John has a routine something like this:-
Monday
Squat
Stiff Leg DL/Back Extension
Bench Press
Rows
Crunches
Gripper

Thursday
Side Bends
Bent-Leg DL
Shoulder Press
BB Curls
Wrist Roller
Reverse Wrist Roller
Calf Raises

Important points that are controversial
1. If you squat heavy you cannot deadlift heavy as well. Stiff Leg Dl is only an accessory exercise.
2. There is no need to do more than this.
3. He states that Squat on day 1 and Deadlift on Thursday provides an indirect effect for muscle stimulation.
4. Each lift is used just once a week.

Stuart McRobert is open with changes to routines, but also says that it should be with reason. He has suggested using Deadlift and Squat on the same day, helps in complete recovery of the lower back. That is right, but is it effective, what about Atrophy? He says Atrophy is overrated and doesn't happen so rapidly. He has many routines in the Books:- Brawn and Beyond Brawn. Some routines have squat and deadlift on different days, some have it on the same day. In some routines squat and Bench Press are done twice a week. Very varied ideas in just one book.

My routine began with this:-
Monday and Friday
BB curls
Dips
Preacher Curls
Close Grip BP

Wednesday
Squat
Deadlift
Leg Curls
Calf Raises
Chinups

I had my last workout on Sat and then today after 4 days on wednesday.
Saturday
1. BB Curls
2. Dips
3. Preacher Curls
4. Close Grip BP
5. Calf Raises
6. Neck Exercises

Wednesday
1. Squat - 2 x 10
2. Close Grip BP - 2 x 10
3. Deadlift - 2 x 10
4. DB Rows - 2 x 8
5. Situps - 1 x 15

What remains???
1. BB Curls - 2 x 10
2. Dips - 2 x 10
3. Calf Raises - 2 x 10
4. Neck Exercises - 2 x 10
5. Wrist Curls - 2 x 10
Do this either on Friday or Saturday
